The best color matches made for Soviet colors are by Akan. These acrylics are mixed in Finland based on formulas color matched to actual paint chips. I have found them to be consistently accurate. They are available in Aqueous Acrylic and Acrylic Lacquer:

Great, thanks! I found them at one of the Shops I regularly buy from in Holland (Aviationmegastore.com). I will get them and let you know how they turn out!

Cheers

Alex

P.S. Actually I got them much cheaper in a greek Website (www.hobbycolours.com). A really sweet deal! :Drinks

You already have this information - Saul gives it to you in advance concern the French aircraft - you need just a little bit search for it :gogo - check section "Authentic Colours by Country"... :coolio

Saul's the guy to go to. If you are interested in armour paints I like ammo of mig:

Also if you look at this pdf file from Vallejo it has FS numbers and associated paint brand numbers.

Thanks guys!

I am always amazed how much Information available is and how much you guys seem to know it.

I have also received the tip about the mig3 site from Phantom II, great site!

I have a Il-2 Sturmovik with all Brassin Details inbound, looking Forward to it.

Saul, the Problem of importing from Hong Kong are German customs. They are very strict and the Prices for taxes are horrendous, so you loose instead of saving. I tend to buy everything in the EU if possible. These guys in Greece have excellent Price and so far great customer Service.

Cheers

Alex, if you only knew how many weeks I spent on the VVS. site and read all the arguments about paints , ect. before I got something to work with on Russian airplanes . You would be amazed.

By the way, the web site Mig 3 . That's only the page I pulled up.

Search for VVS colors . which is the way they relate to ( WW II ) the great patriotic war .

Cheers, Christian B)
