In fairness, they probably did the same thing when trying to figure out where to put the motor. Very blingy Paddy.

Bit of perseverance today i got the Proxxon indexing head to mount on the Innocraftsman mini drill.
there is a major design problem here, the depth from support post to the chuck is too small. what is called the "throat".
Even using the std vice on the combination mount (X-Y) you cant get the centre of the vice or more importantly the turn table on the voce, directly under the drill bit., its about 6mm out. The proxxon chuck below is just centre to the drill but i can only do this by removing the travel lock knurled knob from the back of the Innocraftsman assembly .
Its a great shame because they are beautifully made bits of kit but there was just too little thought put into the design.
In the kit you get valve springs but no valves
so the springs look a bit lost so i have added valve stems this time, once everything is dry i will adjust the stems to be centre in the springs
A bit of deja vu as i discovered again that the kit HT lead tubes are not tubes and are a bit of a compromise , i guess it would be hard to mould tubes in styrene as they would be very weak with the holes ion the sides, so i made them in brass.
The kit uses pvc tube that fits on to the stubs for HT leads, it would work quite well but actually its not seen that much anyway.
6 cylinder engine with 24 HT leads and plugs, 1342 cubic inch, makes 427 cobra look like a starter motor

Last night mission was to get the wheels on the back, not easy as obviously not the correct wheels and so i had to make up spacers and re bore the hubs, they are fitted at the same time as the chains and sprockets, the chains were a job in themselves as they are individual links with each one "melted into place" with a soldering iron. It took quite a few attempts as i didnt have clearance with the first spacers and the chains were against the tyres but like a true hero i battled through 
.
My next missiopn , should i choose to accept it, is to try and find a way off mounting some mudguards.....................this post will self destruct in 10 seconds...
