ID models Vac 1/32 Lockheed Hudson

still plugging away, main gear bays painted, flying surfaces built up. Main gear bays painted, flying surfaces built up. Filling and sanding like an old drywall job. In all honesty it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be.
I added a strip of 10 cm by .010" thick styrene to the wing joint to give a larger gluing surface to the wing halves. (the part seen here) that looks like a wing flap extended.

I ran into a bit of a road block..kind of stumped me through various attempts at correcting/fitting the exhaust shroud(s) I ended up coming up with a fix, hard to explain how I made it work, other than sharp knife, sanding stick, razor saw and some blind optimism. The exhaust shroud has a tube with a large end tucking in behind the trailing edge of the front cowl, the large end is supposed to represent a shroud for the exhaust collectors but the shape is all..well, not all but fairly wrong in shape. the large end should have a concave curve from the small tube to the large collector but, it has a convex curve...ok yes, pictures work better.
Here's a couple of shots of the modified shroud (installed) with the unmodified other shroud on the mat.

Looks like they intended on you heating that part up and molding it around the nacelle.

Really great job forcing that in there!

I've begun working on the oil coolers, online pictures of the real thing (as well as Classic Airframes 1/48 models) suggest the shape included in the kit(?) would need modification. I reshaped the upper open side to fit the bottom of the nacelle better as well as shorten the cooler, add vanes and some p.e. oil cooler matrix (tough to see but trust me it's in there) first image is the cut down & re-shaped cooler (on the left) beside the kit supplied un-modified cooler on the right.
