Chris (et al), I'd have no problem with assembly ships as they were (tired) bombers with extra radios and new paint etc. The Skua and by extrapolation the 'Val', Vengeance, Hs123 and Stuka were 'attack' and/or dive bombers. As a subject I really like that 'genre' but I was thinking more of 'traditional' multi engine types... But that's just me, surely there's enough choice there isn't there ??

That's sort of what I was thinking Ian ( thus the questions ).

The Skua will be on my desk in a couple of weeks and the build will most likely start than.

Since there are no dates set, I am trying to plan for a bomber build without having to shelve something in order to participate. ( need light in the tunnel )

Was that 1:48 .... Found a die-cast one for about 9,500 Dollars ... some assembly required about a year ...

Or 1:72 .... which one could find on Evil-Bay ....

In the meantime I spent 30mins or scouring eBay last night looking for Japanese subjects, there aren't too many and the few that I could find were really expensive. Think I'll settle for a nice (inexpensive) something-or-other from RoG or Airfix.

I'm going to say 'no' because I'd like to keep this a wee bit more 'traditional' for now - however if you remember the 'That Others May Live' campaign we all talked about last year, then Fire Bombers would fit in to that campaign very comfortably wouldn't you say ??

If it only runs six months then I would probably downsize from the He 177 to maybe a Do 17Z or Ju 188 or maybe something really weird like the Piaggio P.108

I do have a goodly selection of bombers in the stash, including the MPC release of the Vulcan in 1:72 (with resin bits & bobs I belive).
