US WW2 ETO Insignia question

OK so most of you know I am s-l-o-w-l-y working on a Tamiya M4A3 Sherman (Thread Name "Sherman ETO" see - https://modelersalliance.org/threads/sherman-eto.155670/ - ) I used the kit decals (now covered) but with a bit of internet sleuthing I have discovered this tank should be in the 6th Armored Division, 69th Tank Battalion. I am wanting to incorporate some type of insignia or plaque into the finished product (See my Magach build as a rough-idea as to where I am going). As such I need to know which insignia would the soldiers of this tank wear, the 6th or the 69th?

Bumper codes.
Major Command, Regiment-Battalion then vehicle number.

Your case would be

6 △ 69△ then whatever the vehicle would be.

More info specific for the 6th

Would you like me to merge this with your build thread for easier reference?

The troops would have worn the 6th Armored Division patch on the upper left sleeve. If they had transferred from another unit that had seen combat, they could wear that unit's patch on the upper right sleeve.

Cheers,
Rich
