Okay found where I got side tracked and led to think you were doing a desert scheme. Too late for my input now, but RLM-65 is the blue you need. Carry on.

Okay, that's Wicks a/c isn't it? Its a BoB a/c so the Tropical is misleading. Anyways watching with interest.

Ok here's the sponge treatment, or my take on it.
Here's your blank slate.
Here's the color and sponge. I used the dry sponge you'd find at the craft store. I tried it first by soaking it in thinner, this case Tamiya acrylic thinner, but found it too wet, dried out the sponge and worked well.
Working it now, too much of a pattern, got to change it up some.
To tell a secret, I started off with the wrong color. Made the correction and then found that the pattern was too thick. What I did is go back and did the same treatment with RLM66, the blue base. Broke up the thickness nicely I think.
And the weapons of choice
I used that test shot I had earlier to test the sponge, it's not really like a dry brush but a bit more wet.
I'm going to seal it with a gloss coat and get decals on.
Well, is this the sponge treatment? Does the Chef get a happy ending?? :love :dance

I like it Bob, but I'm not sure there is enough coverage. Problem is where do you cross the line to too much coverage. BTW what kind of sponge did you use and where do you find them? Is the paint thinned or straight up? Always thought this was a cool scheme, just never ever tried it before.

Looking at photos of the real one, it almost looks like it would be a better effect if you sponge RLM66 RLM 71.
