Managed to leave the top loose on my Tamiya Extra Thin yesterday. :facepalm

I did that a couple weeks ago w/ a bottle of Tenax...except I didn't catch it for a few days. Needless to say the bottle was bone dry. :smack

Only just caught-up with this, my apologies, Mike...

Very cool build, like this a lot - reminds me of my Tamiya Stug that was 99% done when we moved to this house - a friend of ours who was helping us with the move dropped a box on it and that was that... :bang head

Thank you, Luiz! It's been a long, hard week with next to no bench time. I did manage to get the Dunkelgelb basecoat on, here's the result.

No flash.

I'm going to let this dry and start the camo when I have the whole day to mess with it.

More to come, thanks again for checking in.

Thanks, fellas! I appreciate the feedback. It won't stay factory fresh for long, Gary. :D

Even under the camera's all-seeing eye, Your builds are among the best I've ever seen. You make those fiddly Dragon kits just like they were meant to be, just so. :notworthy

Dragon StuG III Schurzen Mit No Pantzen!

Thank you all who commented, I appreciate it! Today, I set out to build some schurzen for this beast. I'm not going to keep it tidy, it may in fact get ugly. I dug up some different sets left over from past builds and found a really old Eduard (yes, Eduard)set I bought from John's Hobbies way back when. :eek:ldguy I decided to go with the Eduard so I wouldn't have to scratch build the brackets.

Nothing high tech about this, just pliers, tweezers and a sharp knife. That's a scrap piece of acrylic I snagged from work, bought a 6" x 36" piece for a quarter!

Looking closely, you can see where the bends need to be made. Trim the part, files the edges and bend them with the tweezers and pliers. B)

IMG_8858.JPG

I pinned one side of the bracket with my downward pressure tweezers to get it where it needed to be, carefully bent the bracket up and applied a drop of Dr Mike's Glue. I held the bracket in the glue until it set, removed the downward pressure and repeated the process on the other side.

Top brackets done!

I assembled the lower brackets and installed them in the same manner.

Here's a quick shot of the rough draft.

I broke the glue joint on the hanger, had to reglue it but everything will get chipped etc, so the touch up should not show up.

I took a few minutes to paint the spare track stowage rack, I slid it up slightly and masked the hull with a piece of paper to spray the color.

Much easier than brush painting them. Again, more painting to go. That's about it for today's endeavors, thanks for coming by!
