Thanks guys.
I don't know if aftermarket antenna parts would work but the would HAVE to be better than the O.O.B. parts.
Actually the kit parts were looking good so I would not have even considered replacing them, everything thing else on this kit seemed to fit together reasonably well so I put off handling the radar antenna until now. BIG mistake on my part!
I SHOULD have checked the fit of the radar masts to the fuselage before any paint was even put on the model, doing so would have avoided pretty much all of the problems I will face.
To make things worse I had actually started putting on some of the smaller stencil decals before finding out the problem with the radar masts so I will have to wait another day to start working on getting the radar masts to fit to make sure the decals are 100% dry so I don't damage them while handling the model.
Oh, speaking of decals the small stencil markings that were put on the model so far about half of them broke apart when placed on the model...the kits decals were printed in 1996 so maybe that's some of the problem, aside from the fractures the small stencil markings are well printed and if I spoke German I could read them.
Right from the start I was going to use one of my Aeromaster sheets for the markings but sadly Areomaster did not include ANY stencil markings so I am forced to try and use what came with the kit or have the model look almost naked.
