Sturmtiger build

Here's my latest project the Tamiya's Sturmtiger. After some issues with the tracks (thanks Iron Mike for the help!) It's up on it's feet. Wow that steel is bright haha.
A few more hicky's to the top half and I'll finish it in the ambush scheme like the image below. I plan on displaying it as one of the group that took part in the battle of the bulge.

Looking very good. I like the roadwheels and tracks paint. I think you caught the worn metal very well.

Thanks all!
Wanted to have at least the basic camo coats for a follow up post tonight but the heat & air guys disrupted the paint session.

Not to sound redundant-- but I too am digging the tracks. They look great as well as the road wheels. Really looking forward to seeing what magic you do with the rest of the scheme!

Thanks men!

I sprayed the black undercoat on the upper half late last night and will start laying down the base and camo tonight :mpup

Dario, I used a metallic silver Sharpie pen. I got mine at Walmart so any office supply would be sure to have 'em. Believe it or not there are airbrushed dusting coats over it to tone it down. It does'nt look as bright as it does in the pic's. I've been paying attention to the tracks on dozers to see how they wear.

building up the base coat. there are three different color layers, trying to not pile it on the edges; gelb, sandgelb, then some buff. It's a start.

Thanks Luiz and Mike!

Got the camo on. Next is the pattern in the green and brown. I'm going to do 'em in buff :eek:hmy:..... no, not in THE buff.

And a really nice touch stopping the camo where the fender/skirt fell off! That's paying attention to what you're doing. :mpup

Thanks all for the compliments!
Hi Tom, my pallet is limited so I do alot of mixing, the brown is actually Signal Braun, Dunkel Braun, Buff and leather with a smidge of Rot. The Green is Dunkelgrun, Panzer Olivgrun and Buff.

Kreighshoer I hope I don't blow the rest of it!

I got the pattern onto the camo tonight and am starting to add some weathering.
