Sturmovik

Yup, but this one is a very very nice kit, Accurate Miniatures windscreen on Il-2 is slightly steeper than Tamiya and looks like the real thing too me. I have Tamiya in 1/48th and Italeri re-box of this one.

:popcorn

All the best!
Dusan.

Here you go Bob,

''Furthermore, Eduard's version of the Shturmovik has not been previously released by Accurate Miniatures. Prior to the definitive two-seater, the Il-2M3 with the revised swept wing, the original version was simply supplemented with a crude second crew position using the same wing as the single seater. This variant, known as the Il-2M, is the version offered by Eduard. This is the first version of the famous Il-2 offered by Accurate Miniatures.

Eduard from the Czech Republic, a first-class kit manufacturer in its own right, has also added their own detail parts, masks and decals to deliver a highly detailed replica of the Shturmovik.

This latest Eduard kit is being offered in their standard "long-run" series (orange box), and contains the plastic from Accurate Miniatures, comprising 115 parts in grey coloured plastic and 9 parts in clear; combined with a large new colour photo-etched fret; masking sheet; and a decal sheet with markings for five aircraft.''

I also read through Brett Green's review for a guide as well.

I think it was Tom Cleaver who built the review model over on Modeling Madness... He made some good points about fitting the intakes in the cowling. Worth reading before you start, Bob (I printed-them-off when I bought my kit).

Just playing around with the hairspray method on the back wall of the cockpit and the fuel tank. Added fuel line, there was some molded on detail there I scrubbed away and replaced. Not sure if it's right or not but there it is.

I started drilling out the exhaust ports and the drill got away from me so...anyone know of a good aftermarket for the exhaust for this kit? :facepalm

I realize that the gunner sits outside the armor plate...nice.... :blink

Most affordable?

Quickboost QUB48079

Another choice is CMK:

The best is no longer available:

You can deliver the payload and get the weapon home without the gunner- sad fact of warfare. That looks crackerjack, Moon- excellent chipping. Fun, innit? :drinks

No more Moskit!? I never even had the chance to use them. :bang head

Thank Saul

Chuck, maybe it was a gunners Accuracy Incentive Program. :blink

Very crusty. :good:

That hobby shop you got your rectified turp had Moskit pipes, sure wish someone would figure out how they did it and make 'em again!
