Roman's Stug III B

Roman , beautiful pe work , this is turning out very cool !!!

I like the black [ dark ] wash on the center top of the tank .

Hi Roman,

The decals bring the Stug to life.

I found with Mig Pigments that you really need to have a good coat of
flat clear over your model to preserve the paint job.
I mix 502 Abteilung thinners to Mig pigments and then brush on wet with a "o" brush .Don't put too much on or it will eat into the paintwork.

Let dry for an hour or so and then brush off the excess.

Cheers
Michael

Coming along nicely, Roman! Very nice brass work, seems a shame to paint it, but it's looking good! (y)

Thanks!

Michael, I will try your wet way of applying pigments.

So... Some progress. I decided to paint some figures and to think about Stug weathering.

Re:Roman's Stug III B (21.02.2010 update)

So, I was very lazy all this time. Now I have decided that at least hour per day I will be engaged in building the dio with Stug and I will try to spread the daily photoreport.

Base in tamiya basecolor.

Remains not so a lot of time, therefore I should strain my will :) As I will finish I will lay out photos of soldiers close up.

Re:Roman's Stug III B (23.02.2010 update)

Hi

I have started to do asphalt. The first step to put drops of different shades grey and brown which simulate gravel in asphalt. Than I will paint it in dark grey.

Now I'm thinking about gravel pillow under my asphalt.

Re:Roman's Stug III B (23.02.2010 update)

Thanks to my wife that has thought up from what to make gravel. I take corn groats and I paint with its PVA distemper!

Re:Roman's Stug III B (26-02-10 update)

Thank you Richard!

I sprayed the asphalt with dark gray and then sanded it with fine sanding paper. below is the result:

On a photo below, I have noted drops of a paint normal (scale) size and too big which should be masked.

to be continued.

Re:Roman's Stug III B (26-02-10 update)

Gravel will be in that part of a diorama where my 2.5 years daughter helps me to paint the earth.

I'll need to add some gravel at empty spaces.

Re:Roman's Stug III B (08-03-10 update)

Hi all.

Here some pics of the base in progress. I think to dust asphalt with pigments, but the gravel and grass line is almost ready. Any comments about the base?

FINISHED!!!!! (22-03-10) "Barbarossa first days"

At last has finished a diorama :)
In process of processing I will spread photos, I master GIMP and Ubuntu.
So, some photos from front line from our special correspondent. Unfortunately we do not know an exact place, but we precisely know that photos have been made approximately in a week after the Barbarossa beginning.

Vorwärts!
