I Could tell you stories about customs and models that would make your skin crawl!

:rotf :yipee

Bob

Me too Bob! Would really like to hear how stupidity is rampant in customs.

I'm in on that too. I can't imagine what pallets or containers must go through, at my level it was smooth sailing for the most part, only outgoing stuff was ever an issue.

Paul, I got a stupidity story for you though. After a while of doing business with them, I had a very informal relationship with Voyager Model. I'd email an order, they'd give me a total and I would send them the amount via Western Union (this was years ago). One day I get a call from UPS from a town in my state about an hour away asking if I'm expecting a package from Shanghai. After telling them I was, they said, great, give me your address and I'll get it to you and sure enough he shows up an hour later in a small UPS van. Now we're talking about $4,000 worth of PE in a box, only labeled "Jeff, New York", and the zip of the town he came from, not mine. Somewhere on the box was my phone number IN PENCIL. To this day, I still have no idea how it got here, how it got through customs, just how in general? I'm assuming a label must have fallen off somewhere, but I'm just lucky the UPS guy was concerned enough to try to find 'Jeff', because my cash was irretrievable at that point.

The Tiger looks very nice and will be simple. I am going to find a non zimmed version to do. Will tackle the Takom kits whe I feel more enthused.
I was working on the SS-100 in prep for the trailer but I really want to do a Tiger II, just not all the fiddly stuff. Stay tuned as I do this and a Pup.

I had no idea they had this! OMG, My Bro-in Law had one when he was in highschool. He ran in the back of a toyota (would have been about '72) and totaled it. Just scratched the bumper on the Nomad. I gotta keep my eyes open for this kit.

That's so cool Pup! Yeah, they really built them back in the day! I look forward to seeing you get one of these, maybe we can do a joint build on it when you do.
