Academy Mig 21 MF 1/48

Hey Saul,

Nothing new at the moment. I've had a busy summer and just got back to my 109 build last night for an hour.

Things should start to slow down after this weekend hopefully.

I still need to drop into the hobby shop to look for some russian interior green. What AM did you find?

What AM did you find?

Aside from decals, I found some PE, a resin cockpit (actually two) without seat(s), and spare Academy weapons & parts replaced by AM on my builds, resin replacement tail and spine (MF style to correct Academy kit which is more like BIS and these parts are left over from the KMC MiG-21R conversion which also included one of the two cockpits mentioned).

Regards,

Time to stop talking and start working again! Been at this one the last couple evenings and will have an update tomorrow.

Finished up the pit! I couldn't find a suitable colour for the interior from my LHS so I mixed my own. It's not bang on but hopefully close!

Tried my best to emulate the burner can...and to take a pictue of it!

More pit shots

Fuse together

spine (?) and tail on! It's great that most of these add on parts cover up the fuselage seams so there isn't much filling to do!

Wings!

and the tailplanes

As I mentioned earlier, a lot of the external parts cover up the fuselage seams. This is great! :)

Starting to look like a Mig!

Coming out very nice Warren . I particularly like the cockpit.

Very thoughtful of those Russians to design an airplane so easy to assemble :rotf

Cheers, Christian B)

Mine too, but not for a wee while. Excellent work, Warren, keep it coming, friend.

Ian.

So I spent the night before last adding some little bits like air intakes. There were 5 or 6 of these and took a bit of time to clean each one up and then drill them out!

and got the wheels assembled and the PE on them

Just added some putty and fixed up the seams a bit last night so the next step will be sanding!

:bang head

Nice little upgrades Warren . It's those little bits that make a bird look believable (y) (y)

Cheers, Christian B)
