Gentlemen,
The White Oak Hull and Drydock Company, a division of Sea N'Sky Enterprises, wishes all concerned,
to be informed that a Transfer of Command Ceremony has been held.
As acting re-fit Commanding Officer, Lt. Commander Rhiner hereby, and for all time, relinquishes all duties and priviledges thereof to Mr. R.J. Lundgren USN (ret.) of DLG-22, USS England, and acknowledges, in keeping of the proudest traditions of the Naval Service, that R.J. Lundgren shall assume Command duties concerning the operation, manning, and service of this Vessel henceforth. Witnessed this day 12 August 2014 by Capt. Scott Rogers, of the U.S. Vessel Revenge, a Privateer in good standing with The United States congress.
I stand relieved, Sir!

R.J.'s reaction was first one of disbelief. Out of character, I managed to keep my mouth shut about this project for the whole 2 years it took to complete it. Then it sank in, that this model ship, was a GIFT for him, to honor his Service to a grateful Nation, and he began to tell me about his time aboard USS England. He bear-hugged me off my feet, and told me he'd be taking the model to Mobile, AL. for his ship's reunion in October, this year.
It was Scott's idea, My sweetie bought the kit, all I did was put it together, and paint it. (and cast the radars, and make the decals. model stuff) I didn't do one special thing.

I'd encourage anyone, to present an Honor Model to a Veteran. You have less stuff to dust, it frees up shelf space, and the reactions I've had so far, mostly, defy description, and are a treasure to me. Make it for Someone!
