Just remember that "THEY" work off of emotion and the logic goes out the window with the bathwater, baby, and whatever else they get P.O.ed about. Sad part is they also believe folks when they tell them it's raining (under a cloudless blue sky) So sad there is such a disconnect.

If its any consolation Chris you do reach an age where you have seen it all before with politics and each generation has to experience the good and the bad. Trouble is by the time they do that and work it out...the next generation arrives .
They talk about politics being democratic and a unifier, in my experience its the exact opposite , usually it's pretty undemocratic and extremely divisive. More importantly for me is to look out the window and see if its sunny or raining, that has a much bigger effect on my day ahead
