Tamiya Panzer IV tank commander

This is one of the two figures they give you in the IV Ausf.H fit (#209)
The headphones are from Dragon's "Panzer crew, LAH division (#6214).
I made the headphone wires from five twisted strands of very thin electronics wire. The twist is not as apparent to the naked eye.

Thanks for looking,

Bill

The head looks quite good for a Tamiya one, I like the head set too

I like the figure overall and cant wait to see progress !!!

Thanks Andy!
I think he kind of the looks like the actor Ed Harris. I just hope he doesn't end up looking like an opera singer (exaggerated face make up)

//Matts; The cables retain their flexibility and will take a nice soft-set without kinking. So far so good.

Cheers,

Bill

A little progress. He looks like Pippy Longstocking or Wendy Thomas with those crazy red/brown cables.

He will go in the Pz IV that I'm trying to finish.

Thanks for your patience.

Cheers,

Bill

Hey I like Wendy, cute redhead AND owns cheeseburger joints! :woohoo:

Looks like you got the commander under command Bill :good:

Thanks Bob! Thanks Luiz!

It looks horrible this close. Better to stand back and squint your eyes.
I don't know why I post this except to show the decals and badges.
They are from AM Works (Alliance Model Works) 1:35 WWII German Tank Crew Uniform Insignia and Devices LW35050
It includes a couple of photo etch plates (1"x1-1/2") one white metal with the crosses and badges, and a brass one with officer shoulder boards and headphone bridges and throat mikes. Pretty cool IMHO. Anything to distract from my paint job. ;)

Time to mount him up. See ya in "Armored Fury" (war face)

Sorry I missed the updates, Bill, he really looks good. The last photo really is critical lighting, the markings really show off. Keep at it, you'll get it whipped. (y) :drinks

Thanks Mike. Appreciated.
The lighting in the previous picture is better. (Still pretty bad, but more representative of what you see in real time)

BTW: Everyting below his right hand is out of view inside the cupola. You don't want to see his boots :(

Cheers,

Bill

Uh oh, boots are Andy's thing. :pinch:  Maybe he will do a SBS? (nudge, nudge) B)

Thanks Bob! Thanks Luiz!

Looks fine to me.

Thanks Bob! Thanks Luiz!

I've had dates like that. :blink

He looks good Bill, if you are after a better light and use a desk or pedestal lamp, grab yourself an 8watt = 40 in the old scale LED daylight globe, you will never use anything else.

the 60watt equivalent daylight LED is better in a ceiling fixture, they sure are bright.

OK. Last one.

(Thanks Bob, and thanks Phil. I will work harder on my photography. It is an on-going experiment/process (y) )

I shot this on with my phone. More the effect that I'm going for ( ... farther away.. )

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,

Bill

What can I say Bill. WOW Every build is better than the last. The tank is great, the figure is awesome and together they are WOW. Nicely done (y) (y) (y) (y) (y) (y) (y) (y)
