How that look for girth?
well I'm not comfortable cutting the caps off, you know how I can't draw a straight line. Think I'll run a bead of solder around it right at the point where it's curved.

If you take that miter box and attach it to a 1 x 4 you will find it easier to hold or clamp to the workbench.
