I think you will have to go double check if the tailplane numbers were hand painted with stencils or airbrushed on. No reason can be good enough not to go to Duxford. :drinks

Firstly a quick apology for reaching page 3 without starting but I'm away now.
This is the radio, receiver, IP and map table.

all this is from the PE frets. I really struggle when i have plastic parts, PE and Resin parts all the same and i have to make a choice of what to use and what works with what. The amount of time i spend preparing a part just to find i dont need it as its replaced by resin is anyones guess :) Doesnt take much to confuse me :)

Thanks to Saul for the link to the map download he posted in the here

From "Ode to an Anson"
by Andy, No. 7 SFTS (Fort Macleod) 1943

Oh, the Crane may fly much faster
Inside she may be neat,
But to me the draughty Anson
Is very hard to beat.

Her plywood may be warping,
Her window glass may crack,
But when you start out in an Anson.
You know that you'll come back.
... ... ...
When she comes in with a panel,
All split from front to rear,
And the rigger starts to fix it-
They don't need a lot of gear.

A chisel and some plywood,
Some brads and a pot of glue,
Quite a bit of elbow grease
And very soon they're through.

They wheel her back out to the line,
Her Cheetahs start to cough-
Our Anson knows they're lads to train
And she's eager to be off.

also this is a can of worms i think.....I noticed that some Ansons are duel control and some are not...and then i spotted this..note control column on the wall...

Some have a dual IP as well.....

Re: Classic airframes Avro Anson Mk1 1/48

Once again i am finding that after market does not mean better...lol especially PE..

Here is a resin control column and a PE one which is next to useless as its 2D !! and a couple of home made ones using plastic card and brass rod. The whole thing is smaller than your little finger nail so with the naked eye looks fine especially once its behind the canopy but i might remake the wheels in slightly thinner rod.

Looks like a good start Paddy. I really like that map table with the ruler and pencils. Things like that really bring a kit to life.

A Classic Airframes masochist! :D I like the work you've done so far.

Re: Classic airframes Avro Anson Mk1 1/48

Well this is hard work

Good old CA, you get the bits but putting them together ??? your on ya own. Instructions are pretty useless and nothing has a locating point so...make it up as ya go along :)

Every thing here with the exception of the floor is resin or PE. I just hope this lot will fit in the fuselage....
