Ferrari 312T FINISHED

I changed the cables from the clocks to 0.7mm from 1mm and really please with the difference, it shows how detail is far more critical to scale as you get smaller, it might seem like 0.3mm is not a lot but think of ity as 30% and suddenly its more important,

also added some seat belts, Tamiya didnt include these in the early large scale F1 kits but these came from top Studio and included everything you need including wire/double sided tape/ the ribbon /cloth decals/ cast parts/ and PE for £8.00 or $12.00

I used Revell spray chrome on the wheels. This stuff takes a few weeks to go hard but i have had it in a warm cabinet at about 28 degrees for 4 days and as its the inside of the wheels they will not be handled so can proceed with care -)

Oh dear...paint and decals time...... yawn....

Decals have arrived from the US of A so i will see what i can do with them, look good but i wish they were die cut rather than left to me and a scalpel....just checked and i started this with 10 fingers so lets see ;-)

As predicted i made a mess of the decals :) the top came out OK but i had trouble with the sides. where the decals were like they were pre stressed and as soon as i slid them off the backing paper they instantly coiled up like a watch spring....... it immediately became pretty obvious i was never going to get them on the side panels either straight or un twisted :) Oh well this will be a nice 75 Ferrari just not a faithful replica ...

Finished this last night, Its a fantastic kit with fit and detail top notch and at 50+ years old it puts many new kits to shame. ;-)
I struggled with the decals a bit, the originals had gone yellow and the replacement ones, basically a few pinstripes on the sides, wound up like a watch spring as i removed them from their backing paper so they are missing on this finished set of pics .
I did try and get the middle seam out of the tyres but i didnt dare go any further as they were getting very thin.

I will display as above with the body panels off but here they are balanced in position. They are a good fit and with glue would sit very well but without there are a few gaps understandably
