Bf 109-g-6

Me likes it :D

Vallejo is my choice of colors in acrylics. Having said that, I did go Lifecolor for the Bismarck, and can't fault it. Mind you, I am only using two shades of LC. Rest is Vallejo (white, black) and a hint of Tamiya Maizuru grey or something like that.

Good job MP (y)

Laurence

Thanks Laurence, I really like the Life Color stuff also, worked well on the incomplete Tiger...:bang head

Hope to get some bench time this weekend.

I tried very hard to go to vallejo paints. I really wanted them to work for everything. What I have found is that their armor colors are pretty good, and they work great for figures (which was were they started) but the aircraft stuff isn't close to correct. I'm hoping either the MIG/AK brands or Mission Models are better. We'll see.

The -109 looks great Bob! love the canopy, great solder work.

Looking forward to the weathering and those rivets!

Thanks Mike, I got a big bottle of their flow helper stuff, don't use it as thinner alone! took two days for that stuff to dry. I'm finding that when it's good and thin with the retarder it's no so bad. Always did have problems with it drying out the tip though.

I took a couple of breaks today cutting the grass and got some clean up done. Going to get the mottling and a clear coat on then start riveting again.

Got some color on it.

Going to seal coat this and start doing the riveting.

The control surfaces are not on because they have their own rivets also.

Yeah, the Model Master Acrylics worked fine, fought with the Vallejo the whole way. Think I'm going to take a lesson from our long MIA pal Les and switch to MM Enamels for any more of these schemes.

I put the winders in the frame!

Nice template, cut along the lines and the windows fit inside the frame like magic. Soak the glass in water and the paper slides off, clean up the residue and you're good to go. Still gets a bit dusty working with it to get it in place, not sure how to handle that.

RB suggest using Future to secure them in the frame, I decided to test Dr. Mike's CA, cut some spare clear scrap and glued it to the PE fret. Worked great!

I got all of them in except the front two, you can see on the template where you can drill out for where the hand hold is to slide the glass back. Debating on doing that or not. :idonno

Looking good Bob (y) I'm with Les . Much easier with Enamels :drinks ( Even Tamiya for that matter )

Cheers, Christian B)
