AMPS East...

Anyone there this weekend? The date totally crept right up on me...between Luke's weekend soccer games and some rocket launching tomorrow for Cub scouts, I am too crazy busy to get down there. I had a lot of fun meeting up with people at the Nats last April so am a bit bummed... :(

Since I'm here, and I don't know where there is and I bet there is not a day trip for me, guess I'm out.

I'm out, maybe. need to convince the wife and son to drive 1.5 hours and spend hours while I take photos of museum exhibits (it interests me more than completed models and I really can't afford to chase vendors).

It might happen... sure.

Regards,

1.5 hours for Saul equals at LEAST 10 hours for me...yeah, i'm out! Take pictures Saul, tell your bride y'all are going to a mall. :mpup You have malls up there don't ya? :D

You have malls up there don't ya?

The Danbury Mall is only one exit away from the museum. Since the show is also one exit away, maybe the show is next to the mall? Hmmm, maybe I am not SOL yet.

[EDIT] The show and mall are in opposite directions.

Regards,

I went today, had a great time, increased the stash a little, talked to Rob Scratchmod at th AK table, some pretty good builds. It was a nice day

Moonie,

Rob and I were both there at the booth all weekend helping Iain give demos of how to use the products on our models since AK USA sponsors both of our works, but we don't 'work' for AK or Miguel.

I remember seeing and speaking to Anthony briefly on Saturday but it was a hectic two days of very little sleep separated by models, demos and drinking lots with many cool people from all over. Some famous, some infamous.

I didn't get many photos, was way to busy to do so, just getting a bathroom break was hard to do. Iain's girlfriend Kristen did shoot some video with my camera though, I might be able to get something put together...

So loitering it was! :dance :silly:

Yous guys going to take your show in the road? Would love to run into you all somewhere if I ever get a chance to hit one of these shows again.

Iain was at AMPS Nationals in Virginia? He also just returned from Euromilitaire, unfortunately it wasn't financially feasible for me or Rob to attend any of those.

I believe we will be at Granitecon (New Hampshire) in about 20 days and maybe Wings and Wheels next spring but those are all local here dude. Iain will most likely be at Nats next year (Nebraska?) but I dunno about Rob and I.

Here's a quick snippet of a bunch of footage I have to sort through, love the shot of the little guy and his dad at near the end, we spent a great deal of time with them. The future of modeling right there!

Recognized you from a photo you posted on Planet Armor (maybe?) a long time ago. I'm glad you stopped by and had a chat with Rob, he's a talented dude. (4 golds, best US armor, Best of show and maybe a couple more?)

Yo Erik,

yup, I know Mike, he's a really super guy. Had I known he knew you I would have brought it up. He hooked me up with my 'Finders Keepers' vignette, which was on the AK table for display and when it needed to be judged, he came and got it, 'burned it through' and brought it back. Talk about top notch service.

Really great dude and gave me a heartfelt handshake and congrats for the win. Pretty sure he brought home some loot too!

It would have been great if you had come dood. :ro:

KEN,

Yeah, MIKE is a Very Cool Dude & That is Top Notch Curb Side Service !!! That's just th way that MIKE Rolls ! He's 1st. Class all th Way !!
