1/720 USS Enterprise

After finishing the M-46 model, I wasn't sure what to build next. I was finishing reading a book ad out the 2nd Armored Division in WWII and starting a book by Gen. E. Harmon. So while I was waiting to be inspired, I decided to dust my models and room which was long over due. After rearranging stuff on the book shelves there was a big enough space for a ship model. So the choice became clear, along with watching Rino Dave's build, the choice is Revell's USS Enterprise, CV 68. The fit is not great but doable. Gary S.

So someone tell me what the deal with such a radical change on the island of the Big E? Was the weird cone some radar/radio setup?

The kit is engineered to make the lower hull removeable. You can display it on the stand and then separate the lower hull when you want to play air-strike with the waterline model. It makes bottom painting easy!

"I don't think so Tim". The fit is too bad.
Meanwhile, more work done on the
SS Bondo Queen. This is going to require multiple layers and a lot of sanding. I'm also contemplating adding a hanger deck if I can scrounge up enough plastic. Gary S.

Decided to try my luck at making a hanger deck by using cardboard from a cereal box. It sorta works. I used the kit door closers to use as floor supports then caulked it in. Not sure if I like it or not having all of the elevators in the down position. The flight deck was painted white and the stripes will be masked off and the main parts of the island are assembled but not mounted. Gary S.
