1/32 P-38M "M" for madness

New update on this 2 yr build Dam! Here is what I'm up against and a start to fix it. All input is appreciated. Need to know, to your eyes, do the tails look straight? to my eye they do, and the camera does seem to distort it sum. Hope you enjoy the long, drawn out affair. I do( even with all the head aches)........Harv :bang head

Really hard to tell from here Harv. It depends what picture you look at. A jig would have been very for this assembly. Hard to believe they are offered for the phantoms and not the P-38's .

Cheers, Christian B)

Agreed! I am planning my own jig with Lego's, but need to buy some. Got the bases.Assembly won't be done till have the jig built. Happy New Year, my friend !

Working on the terrible gap on the booms. I think its coming out rather well. If you notice in the second pic, I had to shim the sides in the engine area, because there was a bad step right at the wing root and front leading edge. But looks like I have it under control. Thanks for looking in guys!......Harv

Hi Harv, I see you're still whipping it into shape. Reminds me of some of the stories I have heard from the folks that use to piece back the F-111' after they had come to some mishap.

Sometimes the manuals had to be amended to include the modifications needed to return one of their jets to an airworhty status. This one is not exactly going together according to the instructions...

Keep up the good work !

Cheers, Christian B)

its hard to tell but for the tails are looking straight.

Man what a fight you've done in last years. Its coming along great.

well, just to prove I'm still plugging away on this beast, here are a couple of shots. Got the right boom on, finally . Didn't fit as well as I hoped it would, especially after all the shimming and test fitting I did. Gonna need some filler and some TLC to get it were I want( or close to it, minds eye, you know). All comments welcome......Harv :bang head

Well I think I have the rear part taken care of. Re glued it and man handled it into a better position. I'm also using a little thin card for the back gap......Harv :silly:

A true modeler takes these basic shapes and sculpts them to his or her needs!

Great going!
