1/32 P-38M "M" for madness

Looks good Harv. As for the bond, I am totally resold on 5 minute epoxy. The shear strength of cyano glues just isnt there.
James

James, any particular brand, and where do you get yours? I know some can be quite "hot"..........Harv :hmmm

I use H and D's Own quick cure epoxy. I got mine from a hobby shop in town. I guess a RC hobby shop is best.

Hi Harv,
cockpit is looking really nice. Can't wait to see it with the glass.
Looking at the amount of space in the back seat I can't help but wonder if the gibs were picked out by their physical size.

Harv that rocks! so the question that has been batted back and forth some is how neat do the seat belts need to be?

:D

The Dentist I had while growing up was a tail gunner on B29s. I never realized how short he was till I saw him while I was standing one day... :silly: But I think in general men were of shorter stature than they are on average today.

Thanks for dropping by MP.I was afraid to "mess up" the belts too much. They are paper and didn't want to tare them.I have to re-glue the front seat, cause it came loose when I was pushing the assembly together. I got the RO floor just a smidgen to much forward. No prob.........Harv :silly:

Yep, black as night. Still mulling around in my head ( makes it hurt !) how I will weather it, and get the sheen right....Harv :idonno

OK kiddies, time for an update. I epoxied the stiffener in to help ..well, stiffen, the resin pit and wing. also added some epoxy around it were it was glued before. I hope this prevents any flexing and prevent any cracking (i hope). Also glued the inner flaps. They are up because I have never seen a P-38 with the flaps down while on the ground. But just one pic. Not much I know. Enjoy.....Harv :silly:

Always enjoy Harv, only thing i would worry about is if that rod will mess with the dihedral of the wings. other than that, I suspect it ain't going anywhere.

Hi MP, thanks for droping by. I checked the dihedral with the bottom taped on, and all looks good. I think I got it spot on. I found out I still have lots to do before closing the bottom up....Harv
