1/32 P-38M "M" for madness

Very small update. After getting my refs together, started to paint the rear pit parts. If you notice, the floor piece has a piece of paper and some small strips of tape. This is going to be the "mat" that is just taped to the floor . got it from a ref pic. Any suggestions on what I can color it with and what color? Need you guys input on this one. As always, good or bad (helpfull kind) is always welcome.....harv :silly:

One more. This is just a mock up of the rear pit. Taped in and not all parts in. On a bad note....I found out how weak the bond was between the resin rear pit and wings!! Its glued back, but now I have to re-sand and re-scribe AGAIN! OH well, I love this hobby, I love this hobby......Harv :silly:

Looks good Harv. As for the bond, I am totally resold on 5 minute epoxy. The shear strength of cyano glues just isnt there.

Thank you kindly, both of you. James, If I had had some, I would of used it. I'll have to get some to keep on hand. I really think, once I get this buttoned up, the bottom wing section should help support the top. At least thats what I'm hopping for! Well gotta go shopping with the wife, so I'll get back to it soon.....Harv (y)

There will be no updates till next week. Getting ready for a big family Xmass party this Saterday. So stay tuned kiddies!.........Harv :Hiay

Back to it. Still sorting out the mat and what material will work best. Have a few ideas. Hopefully, I will post shortly after the Holidays! Merry Christmas ALL !!..........Harv :ro:

Well I got a little time to model, and worked on the blanket that I found that covers the wing were to RO sat. I guess to keep the chill of the ol' keester. Anyway my attempt at replicating it Please let me know what you all think. I'll try and post some pit pics later......Harv :hmmm

I like it Harv, but would it had been OD? I know you remember the quilts that were hung in the Buff, I think they were some grey color. Is that duct tape?

That is OD Pup. I'm thinking of dry brushing with a little OD+ white just to set it off a little. What do you think?........Harv :idonno

A little dry brushing done. MP, do you think this enough? I think I like it. I need to narrow the blanket just a tad. I think this pit is a bit narrow. let me know what you think.....Harv

Well I spent some time tonight, sippin' on some Makers Mark and fiddling around with the RO pit parts. Got the little side wall instruments done, blanket is in place. Started on the seat belts too. But those wont be done for a day or two. Soon as the belts are done, I'll be ready to glue the pit all together. So stay tuned.....Harv :silly: :pp

This is a quickie. Belts are done and shoulder straps are secured to the armor plate (green). There a bit of work, but do look nice!.Sorry for the crappy pic......Harv :hmmm :silly:
