Trumpy 32 scale F-100D

I had to put the Falcon on hold because a friend of mine requested this in his shops Nam museum.

I am going to attempt this scheme and I hope it isn't too difficult.

19 sprues and 416 pieces. I guess this woint be done in a week. :pp

Before you start drink scotch, brandy, rum or what you like and how you like.
Next rread the asssembly iinstructions and make yourself another drink.
Next ppprepare the nnnnecessary ttttools, ppppaints, ssssolvents, and ddddocumentation, then make yourself another drink.
Next ppppp/][aint sss<>><mall pppppArts and every.....tttthing that will be iiii___nside of the mmmmmodel, then make yourself another drink.
Next puuuuu[].,/;t aside the ssssharrrrrrp ttttoooools and take a a bre[iyep]ak for the next day, you can make yourself another drink... and go sleep :drinks

Hey Paul, if this thing is gonna be part of a Vietnam museum, you're gonna need a bomb load.
The Hun was definitely used as dump trucks over there. I don't see any explosive in the parts box.

Seriously that's funny Hubert. As for the bomb load Ill do it with out and he really wont care. He just wants a jet up there. I may be able to do something.

I have this one. Nice kit. Zactoman makes a replacement nose for it which corrects the intake shape. Found here.
Master Details Makes a corrected intake cone for it



And a F-102 style can which would work to make an Air National Guard or foreign bird.



I dont remember who makes the ANG decals, but I have a set at home and can look if your interested.
Master Details also makes bombs, but they are expensive for the number you would need.

That afterburner can looks cool, that intake cone looks obscene and the decals for ANG wont work because I am going Nam full bore except ordnance. I haven't really found any yet. Tell me some one did they use low drag or snakes?

It could carry either. I think all the Nam birds I built had hd bombs, some with daisy cutter fuzes on them. I dont have easy access to my refs right now though. You might also consider naplam tanks and Bullpups. I saw one of those in Sprue Brothers made by CAM. I think I saw one with zuni pods too. Oh and lots of them with 750 pound bombs too.

Well the kit has LAU 10, and some practice munitions. I did find ref to slicks and snakes and bull pups which would be cool to. I will have to go the detail sets for both ends because of you and ordnance because of PII.
I am pumped on this now.

Dont use the can for a Nam bird. The intake cone for sure and I highly recommend Zactomans nose replacement for better shape. Another source for bombs would be the weapons set from ZM's Spad.

I have a question now. Where could I find an engine buck or stand for this kit? if I am going to display it I need one as the only ground stuff this has are a crew ladder and the fuselage stand for the aft part of the fuse.

Are you planning on displaying the engine separate from the aircraft? Are you willing to make all that internal framework as well as the air intake trunk? I know the kit provides a fuselage stand to allow the engine to be seen still mounted in the fuselage but removing it requires either a complete internal structure which is seen or, if you planned to have the front an rear fuselage together, replacing the compressor fan and bullet fairing as well as everything viewed from the rear.

If you are that ambitious, I think I may have what you would need.
