Dried mud (top photo)and wet mud (bottom photo) were applied as a mix enamels mixed with plaster of paris. ( It looks like the wet mud should have been darker - note to self). I find this is where you have to be careful that you don't cover up all of your previous work. The corollary would be that if you are going to be covering up wheels, wheel wells, and hull bottoms with mud, then don't sweat the finish at the early and mid paint stages.(Eh ?).
Time to get those tracks on and gunner locked and loaded.
