I'm going totally out of box, not even bothering with ignition wires.
I'm going for that war weary patch work of an aircraft. I'm listening to A Dawn Like Thunder, the story about Torpedo Squadron 8. When they were on Guadalcanal they ended up cannibalizing TBFs to get one or 2 flying. I don't know if any photos of those aircraft are around but I'm going for that same look with this early F4F-1.
 
I built an old Hobbycrap F4U-1 Birdcage kit (OK, wasn't too bad really) for a friend and this was the subject using the kit decals:

Now, BarracudaCals has released the subject once more after research in which the girl is much more tanned and finding the starboard markings!

I'll keep a watch on it John, thanks. I got all those parts in place and glued, you have to drill a hole for a rod that mates in for alignment and stability. If you pose the wings folded you remove that rod.

VMF 213 warming up, one of the aircraft clearly have a dissimilar demark between the blues on it's cowl and fuselage.
