A little more with the sturm ..... The new engine deck is setting in place a few more details need to be added

005-8.jpg

After that i mangled the skirts a little ....... the big girl just seemed to need them ruffled a bit

008-5.jpg

next came some soldering work for the front fenders

001-6.jpg

After the fenders were done I added a rivet pattern that was omited .....using a historex punch

003-4.jpg

And then just for fun and because the optivisor is such a fashion statement the tool clamps for the rear deck were bent and installed

006-5.jpg

the loading crane was a detail that adds real character to the build .....the only thing missing is the cable but that will be added as well

And now for the next instalement......of Sturmtiger progress The sturm is esentallly built except for a few snmall details......
The entire vehicle has been primed inside and out with a white primer. The interior was then shot with a coat of elfinbein
All the paints used are from modelmakerz.

next the mortars were added to the interior .....since it is basically closed up I am not doing alot to the interior.

003-5.jpg

This is the sealed vehicle in white primer.

next an overall coat of german red brown was applied.
Then it was time to begin the camo.....to do this I started spraying a layer of desert sand , I know desert sand is not the right color .....stay with me on this there is a rhyme and a reason .........after all the desert sand was applied .....then I came back and oversprayed that with a layer of german yellow starting at the center and working out to leave that hazy edge that is aparent on so many camo schemes.

In this image you can see the effect

Once all of that was completed it was on too the green............

This time a coat of modern russian was sprayed first .....

016-2.jpg

Once this was done then a darker green in this case a o.d. again leaving a hazed edge.

The beauty of it is as soon as one color was done it was already dry and ready for the next, and it is ultra flat this is just paint there is no sealer coat yet.

The initial stages of weathering have been done ...... first a oil wash of titanium white was applied to the entire vehicle. After that cured overnight it was followed by a streking of burnt umber yellow green and brown oils to simulate mild weather wear and rain streaks.
The road wheels were done by using modelmakerz brown and black powders mixed together and wetted to produce the grease and dirt look.
