This might have to do.

Be careful of restored works, sometimes those guys, even with best intentions, don't do enough homework on what was rolling off the assembly lines.

Paddy I have the book Spitfire Mk. IX & XVI. Unfortunately it doesnt have any firewall pics. It does have a couple with the engine installed. What were you looking for in particular?

Thanks Guys, (y) I think there is enough there for me to piece together what i need. Looks like the main components of the XVI were pretty near the MK V and XI.

If you find yourself needing something let me know. The Spitfire book is a real dream for Spitaholics.

the copper line going to the value cover on the LHS. Notice how it's ribbed? Guitar string maybe?

Something like this.

one of the companies that's in the group I work for makes flexible gas pipes. Pretty neat to watch the process but that tubing is coated as well

Not sure if that type of tubing was used on the Spitfire but I like it that it adds variety to what's under the hood there.

I think it should be braided or armoured as its some times called. I'm not sure that the engine should be Black actually ? a sort of grey/Blue rings a bell ?

EDIT, No he is right. Black during the War.

Seeing stuff like this makes me realize how inferior my builds are. I don't have the time or patience to do stuff like this. I am glad there is somebody that does.
