Thanks Bob and Chris! Not much of an update for today, I added some highlights to the yellow and painted some odds and ends.

I laid the sandbags where they will go.

Highlights, pretty subtle on the screen, more pronounced at home. :idonno

I sprayed the sandbags a flat brown, leaving dark shadows between the bags. I will dry brush a lighter color over them after that dries.

More to come, thanks for dropping in.

I can just make out where the major panels are lightened. Bravo!
Where did the sandbags come from?

Many thanks, my friends! This is proving to be an interesting build, I spent a good while looking at markings and learned a lot about the Italian Army's role in North Africa.

I'm really not sure why the panel highlights don't show up like they do in person, usually the flash makes them flare up. Rhino, this is the Panzer Art sandbag set, beautifully cast and textured, I'll post some photos of them painted tonight.

Thanks again to all for taking time to look and leave a comment.

Thank you! I have a couple of those photos and that confirms what I had thought. Here's where the waters get muddy. From Semovente Da 75/18 by Nicola Pignato.

So the large triangles are inverted and black on top, the smaller are opposite? Wondering about this. :hmmm :idonno

Yes, they are. By the way, I trust Dr. Nicola Pignato for Italian armor as much as I do Tom Jentz for German.

You can barely make out the smaller triangle here:

While waiting on decals to dry, I started on the sandbags. Mig Dark wash and several layers of oil dry brushing. More to come on those.

The little Ariete "Battering Rams" look Dandy!
She's a nifty looking little "Guinea Grinder" Master Tiki!

Thanks, fellas! The Tamiya decals are nice to start with and with a little Mr Mark Setter over a good coat of Future, they blend right in. I'll seal them with a little more Future and start the weathering. Thanks for taking time to look and comment. :ro:
