I used a flash on the chassis rails so they look a bit odd but you get the idea for the colour.

Hi Greg
this model sat half assembled on a shelf for 30 years and was covered in Kitchen grease and dust so the only way i was ever going to get paint to sit well on the plastic was to use an ultra sonic.....i was pleasantly surprised how well it worked.

That first picture looks like totally real 1:1 car parts! I had an ultrasonic cleaner....I wonder where that sucker went?....
Harbor freight has a couple. The good quality jewelry ones like at work are VERY expensive, but I picked up one like this for $130 on sale at Harbor Freight a while back and it works very nicely. I don't think it would hold up to heavy usage every day, but for occasional cleaning of parts it works very well. It holds 6 Liters and is big enough for about anything I will need it for.

Mine is about 6l and will take a couple of motorcycle carbs which is what i bought it fore. TBH its ancient now but still going, timers etc are clockwork :). It has cost me a lot more in special fluids that its purchase price though.
