It doesn't surprise me at all, that Saul was pleased by Suzanne's T-34.

The P-40 consumes 40 gallons per hour, at A nice, easy, cruise. War emergency power consumed more like 60 gals./hr. T-34 is a teeny bit less expensive to fly.

The Rockwell P-51 was a sponsored Airshow act & advertisement. Bob Hoover was their employee during that time, and flew an AMAZING routine. I was priveleged enough to witness this only 2 times. Have a look-see, at what that clever, humble old Flying Wizard does with an Aero Shrike Commander

LOL, but the point is that humans are mortal. When they die, their wishes (even when a foundation is left behind) may not be followed. Simply look at what is happening to the Jacques Littlefield collection.

Government, or Corporate, sponsorship may be the way to go until the government or corporation suffers a revolution or bankruptcy.

Rhino, thanks for the Bob Hoover video, one never tires of that legendary pilot's flying prowess. I have all my schemes for the P-40 named but not for the T-34B so that is perfect.

I saw Bob Hoover at an airshow when I was in my early teens. We flew up to Spartanburg airport in no less than a Aero Commander, I got to fly back in the copilot seat
