Mk3D Western Germany April 1945

Brokeneagle

Master at Arms
This Mk3D is a really interesting subject as its a photograph from Germany in April 1945, taken by 7th army signal corps photographer on the way to the Rhine. The actual vehicle is one of only 30 produced in early 1938 being re-purposed as a defensive weapon by Pz.Ersatz-und Ausbildungs-Abteilung 35. This vehicle was so out of date after 7 years of war development, that it is amazing that it even still existed by this stage of the war. It seems to have been resprayed in German late war Dark yellow, that must be over the initial dark grey base coat and may even have retained a red brown cammo color over the grey(as was the common scheme for this period.
This will fit nicely as a final bookend for my Mk3 set of builds.
