Make fire with water

Have had this idea spinning around and bouncing between my 2 braincells a while now, :hmmm
So i gave it a try to see if it would look somewhat real :geek

I used a head of a warhammer chaos knight to try it out, first painted the horns in copper and iraqui sand from Vallejo, when dry i started to add Vallejo water effect (the clear pasty one, not still water).

When that had dried, i started to give it some colour with tamiya clear orange and clear red, then another thin layer of water effect and when dry more clear paint, tried with some small tints of clear blue to.

Gonna give it some more layers but that's up to how much fire you want :)
Hope you like it and find it useful :drinks

Very cool Mats. Can you mix food colouring or clear paints with the water effect? Might be a bit more translucent. Very cool idea, I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for this Mats (y) (y) (y) (y)

It's water based so maybe it's going, can give it a try, maybe hard to get the right mix though, but the tamiya paint should go fine

I was thinking some small fires burning in the brush or in destroyed houses with the combatants or victims close by. Or a campfire. So many cool ideas that this evokes. Awesome Mats (y) (y) (y) (y)

hmm must figure out some sound and smell effects than to maybe... :stinker

I had the campfire in mind together with the russian partisans, must see if i can find a some flickering lights small enough to fit inside, that would make it pop out!

awesome and genius idea mats!

to find some flickering lights, go to a model railroad shop and ask for some - lights for welding lights and fire are available in H0 - small enough?

or you build it on your own: http://www.nproject.org/de/modellbahn-landschaft/lagerfeuer-mit-einer-led-teeleuchte.html
