M3 Lee

They came with the set with the little ol' lady carrying the buckets.
Now I am searching for an old lady carrying buckets and find this geezer with Boris Yeltsin eyebrows sold by MK35 Fields of Glory (not part of a set):

That's her. Nice google skills. I'll get a photo of them later today. I think I got it back in the days of the "Well" group build. Remember that?

The civilians

The dude in the green jacket looks like he's holding his hat but also missing a hand. I can't tell if they guy who's bent over is supposed to be leaned over or sitting on something maybe driving.

Back to the bridge collapse

I see it already, I seem to be focusing center on the bridge and the approach of the bridge, I need to focus on the tank in the nose down position. I think it needs to move to it's left more center to my base.
Thoughts?

I got this brick pattern sheet styrene some time ago, never knew what to do with it till now.

Various reds will be used, after all, our bricks around here are made from the same red clay.

The bricks work perfectly and will look great!
I would definately move the tank a little left or reduce the width of the base with a straight cut from just next to the left edge of the road, parallel to the edge of the base, forward to the front. The left space is too large of an empty area and detracts from the scene.

I was pondering this today and thought "What would Ian use to fill in that empty space?!" Yes sir, moving it all to the left. I do have some figures to put in here, at least 2 civilians and 4 crew members. Thinking all will be on the embankment looking like....wtf.

Some reeds in the water to the left or some floating pieces of broken wooden bridge should do the trick.

I'm told that splintered wood is easier to model than bent metal. Not sure about that, from the looks of the I beam I picked up we can see why the bridge failed.

How's the brick work so far? Brick red oil with some darker and lighter pigments mixed to give some variations. Once it's cured out I'll seal coat it, do a white wash to get the mortar effect then some heavy weathering. Oh the top will be concrete.

Shifted everything to the left. Better? :mpup

You may want to add a touch of yellow to some bricks for more variation. You could add some green into brick red mix on the bottom two rows and where the wall is set into the embankment to show some mold growth.

If you remember back to my Staghound base, it started with pretty vibrate colours on the cobbles.

Once filters, washes, drybrushing and pigments are added to your liking, the variations are much more subtle. Your wall may not be as heavily weathered as a road.

No, move it back a little to the right. (This could turn into reliving the day spent finding the perfect postion for the new chesterfield in the living room.)

Cheers,

:rotf
I use to do that to folks, little to the left, no back to the right....
Yep, there's going to be a lot of weathering coming, I remember your cobblestone Rich, thanks for reminding me. Think next week I'll start to plaster then base and get some action going on the figures.
