it's dated 2007, there are tons of candid pics in here taken by the troops- alot of battlefield stuff and some great pics of unit poses candid portraits of weddings ect.

Not only is this a great study of german uniforms and vehicles it's just a very nice collection- I havn't seen any of these before! I don't think so anyway.

i haven't done any modelling for three weeks now ... as soon as i start one of my vessels, everybody here will notice ...

Hey cool! Does Hermann do have some Tamiya extra thin left? ... shit it's too late for today ....

i don't know but he told me that all three tamiya glues - white, green and orange - are available at the moment ... the only one i didn't take was the orange one ... it seemed to be the same like the green one (and i think that some years ago i read something about that was the lightweight version of the green one but i can't say it for sure!)

just give him a call on monday morning and i'm sure he'll give you info desired in his typical grumbletone :cheer:

Orange cap is simply cement, thicker than the extra thin, it is designed to be brushed into the mating surfaces and pressed together. Larger bonded area = stronger joint. Extra thin cement dries very fast and is designed to be applied to joints held together. Capillary action wicks it into the seam but it doesn't go very deep.

a question to those experienced with tamiya glue (never had that glue!) - what's the deal with the orange cap tamiya glue?

LAURA,

The Orange Topped Tamiya is a bit thicker. It's similar to the Plastruct , & Amobroid - in thickness & it takes a lil' longer to dry/cure & You can apply their Orange topped glue to two pieces that are being glued & Then put th pieces together with out risking the glue drying before the parts are together .

Laura,.. you have intrigued me is the Aquarium going to be a base for the ships ?

Or are you gonna put fish in it ?

Laura
There is also Tamiya Limonene, comes with an orange top. I believe it is a non-toxic glue. I've heard it dries slower
and doesn't hold as well...you probably don't need it.

HTH,
Tom

And it smells like lemons....oooh happy gluesniffing! :D

looking forward to the aquarium project, laura! (y)

Greetings,Ron.

Oh wow, a sunken ship! That will be awesome! I love looking at dios of sunken ships and boats, anyone doing that has some crazy awesome modeling skills.

That Ma.K is gonna look good too. Are you gonna make it US or do a German ambush scheme on it?
