Sweet scores guys !Man, I love that camo pattern on the B-17! So cool!

James, enjoy that Strela; I built one in 1/72 scale some years back. It's a great vehicle!

My haul from the vendors who had some really great prices. The Panzer III Ausf N comes with a metal barrel, and some Tamiya photo etch.

Well, I've had an extremely busy summer with kids and field work. Decided to treat myself with some overtime cash to a couple new kits.

First, an interesting new floater from Mikro Mir

Second, a new torpedo Ju-88 from ICM

Lots of bucks Laurence,

But it'll be worth the investment to see it built on a high seas diorama.

Any photos of the kits?

Saúl- those USMC figures are just the thing for my upcoming Abrams and Bradley diorama...when you get some time, I'd love your impressions on them.

I'll post an in-box, I do like them a lot.

Regards,

Very cool Saul. a few kits there I would love to get. The truck, the Grad 1 and T-54 among them. Also the tank crews. Maybe next month as I have a few new kits coming. For some reason I have a few of the new Dragon 6 Day war kits. What are the barrels like from Sabot? How does the T-54 fare in comparison to the Takom version?

Yep, lots of $$$ - been saving all my birthday and Christmas money :D

Including postage (insured), over AU$ 700. I have to sell some of the kits in my stash (not a big stash to start with) to offset this, and keep the wife on the bright side of life. She is already slightly pissed off that I am building something that sunk the pride of the Royal Navy, but she still loves me B)

As soon as the kits arrive, I will start a thread here and post the kits - content and some of the instructions, material that I find, color schemes, the lot.

There are some images on the net, but the kit is huge and I want to present it properly, so, hopefully within the next 3 days I will have it in my possession.

Apparently it's massive, the model itself is over 1,200 mm long. The submarine I just finished - sub is some 720mm long, the box is 1,200 mm long, this ship is longer than the whole Predator diorama. I am struggling with space as it is, but I really really wanted to do this.

Cheers,

Laurence

That'll be a major project Laurence. I like the idea of building a ship but I can't ever seem to get one finished.

Sounds like you have chosen a long term project Laurance! My opinion of Trumpy kits lately is that they give interesting but fall way short when doing research and getting the details right. My Arizona is horribly incorrect though it does build up out of the box to a nice looking kit.

However, if I am going to put that much money and time into a kit like that it is going to be RIGHT, but that is me. I applaud you jumping on the Bismark and maybe you will get me chopping on my Arizona again!

Bigger than anything I have ever done, both in size and effort, research, materials, all of it.

If I were to be optimistic, I would say 18 months, but we shall see.

MP - I have no doubt that you can finish anything you want to finish. It's only a matter of time I suppose.
