Mine! All mine!

Glad you have one on the way Paul! If you decide to show the engines, you might look into finding a couple of these by HPH. The engines in the kit are Way, WAY wrong. HK really screwed up and have the cylinders too small and the rockers for the valves way too big with pushrods on both the front AND back of each cylinder. :facepalm :bang head

HPH made them right, though they are a bit more tricky to build.

Yeah and I have the correct props and I know about the cowlings too but one thing at a time.

They are individual engines, so you will have to get 2. I just put them both in one box for storage. It has been a little while now since I got them and it seems that I did a size/space compare to the kit ones length and all is the same overall. The differences are that HK made the cylinders way too skinny. HPH made them the correct diameter and with one set of pushrods it all fits like the photos of the engines that I have. (y)

I am sure there could be some tweaking needed to get the exhaust to line up with thw cowling but shouldn't be too bad unless you try to build a later version where they joined the exhaust into a header.

I searched for quite a while today and they are not to be had. So for now I'll just go with what I got.

They are available, you just have to order from HPH. Here is the link Paul. HPH r-2600 engines.

Their site is a bit of a pain to navigate, but it can be well worth it. While the resin kits can be a little pricey, they are complete kits with everything. They come with all the PE, detailed engine, cockpit, and whatever parts all in one. Only thing you might try to obtain after the fact might be some decals, or decal sets to change the markings.

The engines are about $21 with exchange rate from the Euro which isn't to bad for what you get. Shipping shouldn't be a lot as they are fairly small and lightweight.

Hope this helps. I searched for several years before running across these engines.

Well, someone mentioned that this kit had Factory 174 parts as optional and I ordered it. Later on, they corrected themselves and stated it was Factory 112 optional parts but it was too late:

Took my wife to Vancouver and back today for her scan and we are hoping for an all clear on the cancer this time. It was almost clear last time so fingers crossed. It's a 4 1/2 hour trip one way but I had a couple hours to kill while she was in so I went to my favorite hobby shop down the road and found this. Never heard of this vehicle before. Turns out it was made right here in Canada. Man I love this hobby. Always learning something new.

Found this stug III too but was not thrilled to see the track and road wheel arrangement when I got home. It showed the attached track and wheel assembly on the side box but I didn't think it would be made out of Vinyl! Granted their vinyl (DS?) stuff usually glues fairly well but I can see this being a nightmare to keep straight.

Tomorrow I'm off to Calgary to visit a sick friend. Another 6 hour drive one way but with luck I'll be able to hit another shop or two. :D :ro:

Nice little knife there Saul.

Sorry to hear of your wife's illness Dave. Hope all goes well and she continues to improve. I also hope the drive to see your friend goes well and that he gets better as well. Those long drives can really wear you down and I know that everything you do is appreciated greatly.

Nice scores guys!

This is something I acquired, but it is not mine to keep. This is a commission build that a friend has asked me to detail out and paint:

WIP_Shuttle_Commission_Build_I.jpg

He wants it to look well used as if it had been shot into space a number of times.

Notice the 1/72 scale C-118 just below it. That will give you an idea of how large this futuristic shuttle is. You'll also notice where certain places are open on this. That is where some working electronics will be installed later.

I'm not sure whether he will allow me to post progress pics of this, but once it is done I will post that part of it that I did. He plans on using this as a display model to show what his company does for movies and/or TV. There are also plans to turn it into a kit of some sort to sell to the general public as well.

I'm going to have fun playing with this!
