Nice haul James!

They had one of these at my local hobby shop the last time I went there. Thought about picking it up but decided I didn't need any armor. Have more than I will ever get to and have a lot of large planes that I definitely want to build in the near future.

The transporter is huge. I'm not sure why I bought it as I already have the other version. I guess the deal I got on it was too good to miss. I was wondering about starting another kit but I have 3 in the final stages of completion and really must do that before I open another box. I hope I can finish them this week (fingers crossed)

Been on an Iraq/Afghanistan kick lately...planning a rather large diorama with my Meng Abrams and Bradley...and in doing research, couldn't pass up this one-- not sure I will add it to the diorama or not as that'd be pretty large...

I splurged and got another Albatros Trio, a Pfalz D.IIIA for one of the new Pheon markings and 4 Fokker D.VIIs. I also got the conversion sets to make one a Fokker version and another an AOW version. Should keep me busy for a while.

...not to mention, broke!
:yipee

I got a set of the old ModelKasten T-37 tracks in a trade with a Facebook modeler but should've noticed that they are too tiny for the T-20 Kosmoliets. Oh well, they can replace the cast metal tracks in the ancient Ace resin T-37 kit I have.

Found this book on Amazon. Learned about when researching Desert Patrol Model Ts.

Then the plants must have been in the right spots, as ICM released this kit and I picked up at Eaglequest in June. (y)

Some really nice stuff there! How does that model T kit look? It might go well with some WW1 aircraft. :hmmm

Good question- I'm not sure how to find out unless I can find a review? :hmmm

I got the set mainly for the extras including foldable rations boxes.

The ICM T's I would say they are fair. Molding is nice, but basic. They all (even the 1/24 scale ones) are missing detail like; fender iron, fender rivets, running board brackets, bolts etc. ICM really messed up the engine, this doesn't matter unless you want the hood off. I'll try to gather information and do a little write up. The 1/35 scale are just a little better. My two cents.

Walk around of a 1917 Model T Ford chassis I did years ago. This is the same chassis of the 1/35 scale kits.

This is what I found at the tamiya page here:

http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/89772us_accessory/index.htm

"
【 Must Haves for Any Modern Diorama 】 This is a 1/35 plastic model assembly set of U.S. modern elite infantry and equipment which saw action as a part of the Coalition Forces during the first Gulf War. ★The soldier figures, which are in a variety of cautious poses, are depicted in PASGT body armor and M88 helmets. ★The set also includes equipment such as M60E3 machine gun, M249 light machine gun, Stinger surface-to-air missile, ammunition and shell cases, and a sheet to depict field ration cartons. ★Two tank drivers also included (one full figure, one torso). ★You can use this set as a small diorama, or add it to an M1 Abrams tank or other figures to create a larger diorama. ★The infantry figures are products of ICM, Ukraine.

[About the First Gulf War] In August 1990, Iraq invaded its neighbor Kuwait. In January of the following year, Coalition Forces led by the United States began a bombing campaign against Iraq, which led to a ground offensive. Iraqi military forces fled Kuwait in February and on March 3rd a cease fire was agreed which ended the conflict.

[About the Uniforms] In the early 1980s, the U.S. military was equipped with BDU camouflaged field uniforms. Among these was the DBDU (Desert Battle Dress Uniform) which featured a camouflage pattern of black and white flecks that was nicknamed "chocolate chip" due to it having a similar appearance to chocolate chip cookies."

I hope that helps.

Cheers

Nice hauls guys.

In my weekly (or so) check for Omni's Moebius grab-bag, I happened upon and earlier than expected new Creature (From the Black Lagoon) and the 2001 Moonbus.

Moonbus arrived Friday, is washed and ready for slapping together. I can start a thread if there is interest, but otherwise I'm plowing ahead with it, trying to shake the mojo tree and hoping something falls on my head.

Mild summer so far, but last night was down right chilly here in at 50F. Bloods boiling for bench time now...
