Nice!

Nothing exciting here. My micro-brushes arrived and I picked up a clear "case" for the Mirage to keep the dust off it.

Received this from another model site to do a review for Revell:

Finally got m Hannover! I wanted this kit from the time it was released. Would also love a CL.IIIa variant as well, but beggars can't be choosers. As to markings there are at least one that I can build the way I want it. I might have to do a decal search at Pheon or work up my own from a photo. Will see once I get it going.

I also have a 1/32 FW189 heading my way soon. Just couldn't pass that one up. I will post on it in a couple of days when it comes in.

Here is the Hannover:

Anyone want an open box review? I can tell you up front it has 3 big sheets of Cartograph decals, and one of the thicker build manuals. NICE!

Nice one. Its a nice kit to build, but the fuse lozenges are a beast. Would love to get another.

Meanwhile after all my airbrush woes and losing the trigger to my Badger 200 I popped for another Badger. In this case a Badger CO105 Patriot. Looks good. Cant wait to try it. I also decided to try a Krome but it hasnt arrived yet.

I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on the 105 Patriot James. That is my current airbrush, though I'm just learning. I do really like the ease of breakdown for cleaning.

I may try to get a pic later, but Friday I decided to take a trip down to Seattle to check out a model shop I had stumbled across on Craigslist. They looked like they had a ton of kits, and not limited to current releases. So I made a stop there as well as the shop in Lynnwood. I found 3 out of production kits at the Seattle shop that have been on my future build list. I ended up picking up a couple more kits in Lynnwood, one of which was a Belkits Escort that I thought I was going to have to order from Europe to get my grubby hands on. Also found a Cruze WTCC car, of which I had no idea they even made a kit for. Spent more than I had intended to, but I had worked a bunch of OT the couple weeks prior so I succumbed to the desire.

- 1/48 Hasegawa F-4G Phantom
- 1/72 Hasegawa Tornado (Desert Storm)
- 1/24 Fujimi Mclaren MP4-12C GT3
- 1/24 Belkits Escort RS1600 Rally Car
- 1/24 Aoshima Cruze WTCC Touring Car
- 1/24 Aoshima TRD AE86 Levin

James I find the Patriot is the one I reach for most even though I have a Sotar and Chrome sitting right next to it. Having to remove the handle of the Chrome to remove the needle is why I don't reach for it as often.

I used it once this weekend was very happy with it. Nice control and spray coverage. Easy to clean. My Badger 200 was my GP brush for base coats etc. This is the replacement and I'm very happy so far. Hope to use it more soon and see how it goes. When the Krome comes, it will be the detail brush. Should have got this first instead of the cheapy one I did get.

Something I did on my Krome was to remove the stupid O-rings from the handle rear section. There is a larger O-ring between the body and rear section and it got pitched a while ago. The other O-ring the works as a friction device for the line width setting. I found it to have rather too much friction and finally removed it since I couldn't find a lubricant that would allow it to work smooth and relatively easy.

The Krome is easier to deal with than the old LG-100 so I just go-fer-it.

Got my first HPH resin kit and am quite impressed. I had read about how these kits are almost like building a higher end plastic kit and the resin moldings are very thin and superbly well done. A better kit than some of the plastic out there for sure.

I have some more photos of the kit parts all pulled out and set on display. The surface detail is definitely top notch! The clear castings for the glass is clear and virtually distortion free with nice internal detail as well as external.

I would love to see a BV-141 B by these folks in 1/32. It would be awesome!
