Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Thanks for the preview Ron! This looks to be a nice reference book and teach/learning aid for building tanks.

:hmmm Might have to check into acquiring a copy.

It's summer and since I don't have much time to build, might as well add a few to the stash!

Got a new purchase!!

Picked these ones up at my last club meeting

and got this from a modeler on another forum

Needed some small brass strips and had looked locally without success. Found a nice assortment pack of several sizes on line.

Next to it is some wood stain I've wanted to try, (might as well order that too, right?)

And then, a couple tools, (never have enough tools) a nice fret saw, fine and finer blades, a special pliers for sawing tube and such, a little push drill. Not a must have, but what the heck.

Nice stuff guys.
I got in 6 new Tiger refs but forgot to take pics. Also the beginning of my Tiger build came in. It was pointed out Sprue Brothers had a sale on the Tiger I E Late and so I got it. Also some track pins for it, some 4 colour lozenge masks to try, and decals for 2 of my AMX-13s.

Some initial AMX-13 tanks used the M-24 Chaffee turret,Peter.

What Ron said. They were used in the Angolan civil war but not much else. The oscillating turret was designed after and used a copied German 75mm gun until they up gunned to first 90mm and then 105mm.

A really nice kit!

Regards,

Exactly what is that? What country is it from and who all uses it? Inquiring minds want to know. Maybe someday IBG can shrink that down to my scale...

Meanwhile, here's some of the things I was able to acquire before being hit financially below the belt.

First off, some tools and supplies. These came from the San Diego Comicon of all places. I found some artist supply booths and picked a few things up:

The round thing is a collapsible water cup for cleaning brushes. Pretty ingenious I thought....

Here's a couple Pershing II tractors and launchers which had been in my Private Warehouse at HLJ. I got one to use the tractor for my JGSDF Patriot trailer/launcher to make a US version:

Finally, another little model I've been trying to get. Now I succeeded:

A friend of mine also purchased and sent me a Modelcollect 1/72 scale SMERCH from the IPMS Nationals in Columbia. I haven't gotten a pic of that yet, but I will try to get one soon. It's going on my workbench very soon.

That's all for me right now. At the rate I'm losing money, it'll be awhile before I can get anything again. At least I have a ton of models to build; and enough supplies to do it! LOL!

Cant wait to see your Pershing 2. I think the Rosomak is a new Polish APC design. Looks like it might have been influenced by the Lav III maybe?

The KTO Rosomak (Wolverine) is a Polish license built variant of the Finnish Patria Armoured Modular Vehicle.
KTO has 7 different variants, IFV with 30mm turret, IFV with upgraded armour, Armoured Ambulance, APC with 40mm grenade or 12.7mm open turret, APC for two anti-tank teams with ATGM, command & control and air defence control.

A good day today. Got some refs and mags and a new figure. Both my youngest boy and I picked this up. And all the rest of my Tiger I project. Not sure why I'm going this nuts into it. The seller was kind enough to give some extras in the form of clevis links, buckets, tow cable, and antennas for the Tiger. BTW the Medieval book is awesome and just what one would want in picture refs to paint medieval figs. And finally some copper tape at 2mm wide.

I decided that the Arizona is going to be at least a two year build so decided that I better grab a quick alternate to build. As I like the Japanese ribbon I am doing one of the Val aircraft off of I believe the Soryu. This kit was in the hobby shop and the markings were interesting so I said why not.

Aq-108.jpg

I will get a thread going on it this weekend.
