Got a few things yesterday and today. A fellow was selling all of his WWI stuff and eventually did it piecemeal. I was very lucky to get 2 OOP kits a little while back for an amazing price. Well I decided to get a few more things for a great price.

I also got the 2 newest ref disks for Canadian modern armour from a friend. He's ex armoured corps and all monies go to support the military. I believe its for PTSD which is a terrible injury as anyone who has it or who knows someone with it knows.

I also got the new Trumpeter T-72M4CZ which is the Czech version.

And finally some more stuff from my friend Bo from Shapeways. These are the valves that are behind the instrument panel on the Albatros. Too late for this build. I also got wheels and spinners for my Albie and Pfalz D.IIIa.

Hopefully it will look like this when done.

For my Battlestar Galactica kit

These are from Federation Models. They are for the Polar Lights 1/2500 kits. A friend told me that that the kit decals aren't that good. I got both the Enterprise E set and the blank set. I am doing a USS Bonhomme Richard with my son's birthday as the hull number

From Shapeways, a 1/72 photon torpedo. I don't think it will fit in the bomb bay of my Starfleet fighter. I may just close the bay and have this on a stand next to the fighter.

I've seen that this is really good for filling small gaps. Gonna try it.

"My name is Boudreaux Gator. You killed my father. Prepare to die." From Shapeways. Comes with turtles also.

Always wanted one to use to cut styrene and thin strips of wood.

Went to a thrift store today and they had a Testor's "Performance Cars!" kit
1_dd5bca9c61c0be6cbc10567dff14da4e_zpsxprx8gjn.jpg

Originally it came with paint, glue, and one 1/24 scale Ferrari F40 and one Porsche 911 Turbo to assemble. Well after checking out the box the only thing left was the 911 Turbo -complete :v .
So for the $4.00 minus the 20% discount, I felt the price Required I save this poor kit from the grubby hands of some unappreciative clod. So I manned up and [strike]rescued[/strike]-er- paid for it.

Hero? :idonno Well, some may say so, I'm too modest

Got kinda behind posting stuff, so here goes -
Couple reference books for the library

Some rigging stuff from Syren. Very nice cordage and superior pearwood blocks.

These hooks are 3mm and 4mm, laser cut from black plastic. Very realistic.

And a box to store the stuff in.

3 models won at the raffle for the local "Pasta & Plastics" show,

Some tools,

scratch brushes - metal and fiberglass and fiberglass refills

narrow nose parallel jaw pliers and wood strip cutter,

bench pounding blocks

Teeny brass pins for wood model building and a rigging threading needle.

Pin pusher and cutter for the brass pins.

A model won at the club raffle for $3.00 worth of tickets,

And most amazing - A guy at the club said he was given this model free. He builds only plastic sailing ships and is a national competition winner in that field. Said he would never build this thing because it is wood and so he gave it to me for free. I looked it up - it's worth $209.95!!

Now I gotta update my little wood flattie build thread.

Geeze Ed, I've never built a plane before. That thing would be way out of my comfort zone. I usually give them to my grandson. He does pretty well with them, but he's leaning toward armor now, mostly oddities.

Let us know how you like that filler. Heard lots about it too.

That cutter works ok, but I had to hone mine a bit for balsa wood as it seemed to crush instead of cut it. It also seemed to leave the cut end on a bit of an angle, so I cut stuff a bit long and sand it to size to get it square. How's it working for you?
