Kit # 6213 @ 1:35 scale.
It is a decent kit that went together well. The figure include is not up to par, and the instructions were pretty bad.

Dark yellow and buff mix with some buff highlights.
I clear gloss coated before and after decals.
The decals were a little reluctant to lay down, so I painted the white roundel.

Next some washes.

Thanks for looking.

Italian armor has a cool look to it, doesn't it? Nice work so far, Bill! (y)

StuG, IM, jnaus: Thanks for the comments. Kreighshoer: No plans for a dio. or figures at this time. This one will just go on the shelf. I have a platoon of figures waiting to be painted, so I will hit some of those first.

Pin wash. I tried to do it with some artist oils (Rembrandt) that I purchased recently. The problem was, I couldn’t get the paint and thinner to mix well. When applied to the model the paint would separate from the thinner. I defaulted to enamel with odorless mineral spirit. Its kind of dirty, I hope weathering will tone it down.

Next hairspray.
Thanks for looking.

I applied hairspray all over and then a camo of sky (XF-21) and cockpit green (XF-71) and a base color coat on the mufflers. The camo is too heavy, but the good thing about the HS is you can wash it off and do-over. Next, scratches and worn paint.

give rectified turpentine a try! -> http://www.dickblick.com/products/shiva-rectified-turpentine/

Hi, very good work..

For wash with Rembrandt oils, I suggest to use Talens thinner.. I use Rembrandts colors too and with its thinner color work very well.

Massimo

Thanks for the comments and suggestions everyone.
Here it is with some light and dark (Nato black) scratches
I used a tiny brush for most and a torn piece of fine foam for some.
I need to touch up the wash over the green camo, finsh the tools, tracks, and that lousy looking machine gun.

Thanks for looking and commenting,

Bill

Very nice build Bill , ........... I like the scratches , not too much , not too little , ......... and in all the right places !!!

Excellent Bill

What a great machine you`ve produced

What makes it even better is the pictures that you`ve taken to show us

Can you describe your set up please !

Thanks everyone for the kind works and the encouragement.
Little by little, it approaches some finale.
Andy, I assume you mean my photo setup? If so, nothing fancy. It’s just a couple of 60W drafting table lights, with the camera (Nikon coolpix 5600 instamatic) set up for no-flash and the light balance set for incandescent. I have to use a tripod without the flash due to slow shutter speed and shaky hands. (The hands don’t appear to shake, but the camera keeps prompting me “picture blurred – Save?”) Next time I take some pictures, I’ll pull back and photo the set-up.

Thanks again,

Bill

VERY nice painted tank. The camo is neatly applied and the colors are vivid and atractive. And your selective pin wash is very effective.

My congratulations!
