You make know them, you may not. But we have a 13 year cycle of these little buggers and I've already had enough of them to last the next 13 years

Cicadas!

These little buggers live in the ground for all their life except to dig out, climb up on my garage door, molt, and fly off into the trees to make this god awful noise to attract a mate. Then the female lays her eggs in the trees and the larvae drop down and dig in the ground to start it all over again.

Just an albino...one of those great freaky mutations in nature. I thought the katydids in late summer were weird ;)
 
I'd like to be down there and see them coming out hibernation...would make for some great macro shots!
 
I've heard they taste like shrimp, we have recipes posted on another website, should I share??
