That is one stunning finish John!

Learned a tip from my Vermont buddies...if you spray a coat of pink down first (yes pink), it helps tremendously with yellow...

i know that works with red. Didn’t know it worked for yellow too.

paintwork is just brilliant on this one John.

Made some fuel lines and fittings for the ole Stearman.

Used some lead wire for the fuel line and evergreen rod for the fitting.

Then flattened some of the lead wire to make a band and secure fuel line to wing strut.

I would had like sharper bends in the line, but it's hard to get the lead wire to form a nice bend without breaking, whixh it did on me several times.

Been at this all day, finished with the rigging. I know these used flat flying wires but I did not have anything useful to simulate that so I just used fishing line.

I got some flat wire for the SE.5 that I might not ever even start but one thing I can't sort out in my head is how to make it look like they connect to the turn buckles.
Looking swell!

I think if someone was good enough, could probably 3D print something that would work with flying wires in this scale.

I just decided to keep it simple. :ro:

I really like the fuel lines!! When I get around to building the 1/48th scale Revell kit I'll try it. Gary S. XLV MMXX

Just did get this one done for 2020. The bird was suppose to get a wooden prop, did not like how it looked so went with the standard prop. Added various scratch add ons to the plane. Hope you like.
