It's my favorite time of the year to go where you're going. Warm days, cool nights, no crowds. Perfect camping weather on the Cape. I have photos on a boat with my lab puppy, a Humpback about 20 yards in the background. We drifted for over an hour since the whale was too close to start up the engines.
Love Woods Hole. And you haven't experience Halloween until you've spent it in P-town. Or on Maui.

Saw my first white shark Monday! We had two very large females, both at least 15' +. Got a tag in one. That's 2 tagged to date! Going out again Thursday.
Amazing creatures! I've seen a lot of sharks over the years but to see one of these in person, the size and the girth of the white, is just incredible!
What amazes me the most is just how close these sharks are to the beach here. I think we had some surfers nervous when we parked the boat jut a few hundred yards out from them!
