I have been plotting along here and there these couple of days.
I scuffed up some of the wheel wells but held off of the dirt till I can see what the bird looks like to match it up
Worked the IP panel but it lacked gages so I planted a few . It needs some handles but the panel is still drying .
The cockpit tub has also been painted but needs a few handles as well

Thanks Dave. Frankly, I feel more like I'm trying to crawl over it despite the fact that it's one of their best models I've attempted to build.

I had been trying to figure out how to install the instrument panel inside the fuselage. The light finally came on
Simple as that brace made from sprue. :facepalm
Next , I thinned the IP cowl to make more realistic.
Finally, made the various handles for the landing gear , throttle levers and some selector handles.
I'm rather happy with this one , except for the seatbelts that are molded into the kit . :idonno
Oh well, it'll give the flashlight people something to grumble about

As I was looking at assembling this Bear, I noticed I had overlooked the cowl openings on the lower panel :hmmm
So, a little more plastic surgery .
Not very pretty from the inside but
from the outside, I think this will look superior to black paint . The panel also fits now
Somehow, when starting these short run kits I never have enough fingers to see how the parts play with each other .

Got to tell you guys. This has been a good build but this is where the gloves come off .
First, the wing inserts were a bit too big to seal up the wing haves.
I have had to grind the plastic and the resin as much as I dare d to make them fit.
I have to share with you how I glued the upper and lower wings together. It went rather well.
First get the trailing edges perfect and tape that halves together . Second, superglue the leading edge together.
When it's set, remove the tape from the trailing edge and glue that joint together with liquid glue Easiest ever .
The cockpit assembly goes right into place and glues right into place .
However I found the it was necessary to trim a lot of plastic from the fuselage for it to go down over the wheel wells and the well to cockpit needed some resin trimming as well . Nerve racking :S
And then I had to shim the right wing so it would match the wing fairings :frantic
Tomorrow I will try to make other parts fair in....

You could do this in wood with all that carving.
