Dragon Sd.Kfz 250/1 Alte...Update 01/29/12

Re: Dragon Sd.Kfz 250/1 Alte...Update 01/09/12

Thanks guys!

Yeah Erik, I'm making a concerted effort to glue stuff together, rather than let AMS take over and just sit there
staring at little bits of brass.

Thanks Christian!!

Update time!

This build is seriously kicking my butt...have a look here...looks good, right?...WRONG!!!

After glueing it all together, I went ahead and took a closer look at my reference material...and realized I assembled
the MG34 mount all wrong. This almost ended up in the trash can, but I set it aside and took a break for a few days.

So it all came off and I started over.

Using Tamiya tape to help align things while I glued them.

And done...

I still think something is off, the vision block should be right above the cartridge bag thingy (whatever it is),
but there is no room, I think some proportions of the Dragon kit are off, I can live with it though.

Thanks for looking,
Tom

There are several variables that may be off. However, it can also be that the thickness used for the plastic hull won't allow fitting properly scaled items (or perhaps the items themselves are off!). Yet, it all looks good in the end and if you are happy with it, so am I.

Glad you did not toss it.

Thanks Saul,
With all the weird angles of this thing, it's no surprise it's not 100% accuarate, but I'm happy with it.

And yeah, I'm glad I didn't bag it too!

Looks good to me.I think I had a problem like that before also. So much stuff to hang on the wall and not enough wall. Keep at it its magnificent (y) (y) (y)

Thanks Ron!

The Dragon kit's not bad, just a bit simplified...I may change my opinion once I try to glue the roof
to the sides though.

Hi Tom, Nice work on a "older" Dragon kit. Just a small observation if I may. You have assembled the front suspension upside down. The piece you have at the bottom of the spring should sit in the slot provided above it. I hope this makes sense. Regards Dean

I have the Tamiya 251/1 in the stash, compared to this Dragon kit mine is just a simple toy. I feel your pain with the problems but hang in there- your beating it one step at a time! :fencing

OMG...I can't believe I did that...you're right. Haha, so glad you pointed that..I'm 2000 miles from home right now, but will
take care of that when I get home...Thanks again!!!
