Desert Warfare - 1939 - 1945 in WWII

Lineup so far:

Ian - Greek Hurricane ( nice!)& Macchi 202
Your choice of builds are not locked in hence the pending so feel free to change. :drinks

As this is probably my favourite WWII theatre of ops, in terms of building models, you can also add a Bf110 to my list, if I don't build it beforehand !!

Ian

I put this up as well on the first list

Wait a minute, didn't someone mention a Rommel v Monty build?

It has always been my preference to have campaigns as broad as possible so as to encourage more participation.

Whatever you guys think works, but let's hear it in this thread. (y)

I agree, anything that is related to Africa and Middle East in WWII. How does that sound?

I thought by broadening this GB might attract more players :hmmm

in saying that wouldn't they be included?

can I have two polls, one for ''anything in the desert WWII or just Rommel V Monty? :) :) :)

So committed to this that I'm going to add one of these to my three a/c builds:

Both have decals for Italian Front vehicles, and as I've mentioned a few times, I found Terry's M4 build for the Sherman Campaign gave me a shed-load of inspiration. I'm going to be so busy with this one !!

Ian

ok so I see this is a go atm, so please moderators give a start date due to the various GB's that are nominated and dialed in to start in the new year.

There are so many new GB's nominated here it kind of makes my head spin!!!!

Any month to start in 2014 is ok by me.

I'm in - DAK turned out to be my fav subject.
Not sure what I'm going to build yet - plenty of choice there :hmmm

Not long to go now until this one kicks off, here is my ''long range desert campaign'' one of these will be my entry.

The rest will be added over the year to make up a desert dio board that I just finish putting together today, will be stained after I get the glass cover made for it, other small additions will be added as I find them.

I shall post up the relevant start picks when I decide which one I will do, in the front spot is the Greif.

The two resin plusmodel sets are nice, also comes with decals for the ammo and medical pieces.

Going to enter with the new Italeri A-36 Apache I picked up last month...but I need to finish up a few others first...no more multiple builds going at once ;)

As far as I can tell, Joey, I'd say yes, it definitely fits the geographic qualifications !!

That would be a tricky one!

Differences between the Sea Gladiator is the dingy housing and arrester hook I think, maybe someone with more info on this variant can shed some light?

Not sure what you are saying here Phil. From my reading the Malta Gladiators were indeed the Sea Gladiator variant. I say go for it Duckhunter.

that's all we need is a firm confirmation they were used, it was just a question if sea versions were used as I have no idea.
